Home Camera Security Systems

Are you considering a home camera security system for your home? Because of escalating crime against property, more and more people are taking steps to secure their homes and businesses.

Home security is nothing new, but it is very interesting to see how it developed over the years.

Years ago it was common for wealthy homeowners and small businesses to hire guards to make rounds of  their  premises.

The next change came when security services were employed by folks with large bank accounts.  These companies would send out patrol officers to drive by homes during the late night and early morning hours.

Not much in the way of actual protection was offered.  Generally the patrolmen would flash a light around the exterior of the home and might even check to see if doors were locked.

The next development found homes being totally wired.  Burglars would trip an invisible electric wire and signal a dispatch office to call the police.

These  systems were pretty reliable, but they were also too expensive for the average homeowner.

These days the  home camera security system has become the most common tool to prevent crime. Digital video cameras, because of their relatively low cost, can be purchased by the average family.  And these cameras are a lot more fun because they come in a wide variety of  shapes and sizes.

Remember the old cam-corders?  They were big and bulky. New digital cameras are much smaller and  come with or without wires.

Because they are small but very functional, wired surveillance cameras are often fixed inside innocuous items that blend into the background.

For instance, surveillance cameras fit inside smoke detectors, inside clocks, or inside stereo speakers.

In fact, cameras can literally be concealed inside almost anything you choose, making them an essential part of your security system.

Wireless battery operated security cameras are the best choice to install in remote locations and the images recorded can be viewed anywhere on the planet via the internet.

To do this, the camera sends the images to a LAN, or local area network.  They are then uploaded to the internet using a designated IP address.

Sound too sophisticated?  Don’t worry because it’s a very uncomplicated procedure.

Using your home camera system in this way you are able to spy on your property on the web.  Think about it — you can sit at your kitchen table in Boise and view your vacation villa in Aruba.  Or you can watch a business five miles away.  And all of this in real time!

This process works because motion detectors are built into the wireless security cameras.  The camera begins recording with the slightest motion.

Wireless security systems generally use batteries to operate, however some now use solar energy. You can look forward to 10 or 11 hours of battery life from a normal nine volt battery.

An additional improvement is that digital cameras no longer record on film. Film had serious limitiations because it had to be changed frequently and used film had to be stored.

Instead, digital images are collected on a computer. These images can then be transferred to a compact disk or kept on a hard drive.

Home security systems are not new, but price prohibited their use for most families for years.  The new home camera security systems  are inexpensive and most families can now afford this protection.

Millions of people now have peace of mind and a sense of security because they have installed a security system in their home.

Perhaps you are ready to join them.
